The Institute of Dermal Science was Founded by Nicola Kieran, who brings over 18 years of international industry experience, IDS was established to meet the growing demand for advanced and specialised education in aesthetics. IDS delivers internationally recognised ITEC and VTCT qualifications, offering courses from Level 2 to Level 6—ranging from introductory Aesthetics to advanced clinical practices Alongside accredited programmes, IDS provides specialised workshops including Dermapen⁴ microneedling, injectables, and fibroblast plasma, giving students hands-on experience with the latest aesthetic technologies. With training pathways for beauty professionals and medical practitioners—including doctors, dentists, pharmacists, and nurses—IDS is committed to raising education standards and shaping the next generation of skilled aesthetic experts.
Nicola Kieran
Our founder and head trainer Nicola Kieran has over 18 years industry experience, having worked and trained in both Ireland & Australia. Nicola qualified as a beauty therapist in 2007 (Ireland), and then spent seven years in Australia upskilling to become a dermal therapist. During that time, Nicola worked alongside cosmetic doctors gaining invaluable experience and knowledge in the aesthetics industry. Nicola now wants to share her knowledge and experience to educate therapists in the Irish Beauty & Aesthetics industry.
